One-year-old Delilah was born with a very rare and complex condition, where some of her abdominal and pelvic organs were on the outside of her body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her mum, Casey, says, “To make caring for Delilah as easy as possible, I involve her big brother, Toby, as though it’s a game. He loves to help out, but some days Toby will say, ‘you don’t play with me’, and I feel guilty. There is a lot of time that goes into caring for Delilah, and her hospital appointments are a six-hour round trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I applied to Family Fund for a dishwasher. Now it takes me two minutes to load the dishwasher after tea. Toby and I do it together, which gives him time to interact with me. As soon as it’s loaded, it’s play time!<\/p>\n\n\n

The dishwasher has allowed us to have 20 to 30 minutes more family time together each evening.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
