A huge thank you to everyone who generously supported our recent charity appeal on Radio 4, including our presenter the wonderful Ken Bruce.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re thrilled our appeal raised an amazing £47,201 for our Your Opportunity fund, which will help us support hundreds of disabled young adults aged 18 – 24 across the UK by providing vital grants tailored to individuals’ needs and aspirations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our 2025 appeal was based around the story of a young woman Nur, who badly needed a lightweight sports wheelchair to regain independence and avoid discomfort in her wrists and arms when getting around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Double the difference<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Radio 4 appeal raised an incredible £47,201 including £25,000 worth of match-funding support from our flagship corporate partner, McCain, who generously provided more than double the donations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Needed more than ever<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fifty thousand disabled and seriously ill young adults are now living in poverty, with families striving to meet their basic needs and cover caring costs of over £1,000 a month. These are challenging times and we’re working hard to ensure our vital support continues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

£5 pays for a book for learning.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

£50 provides three months’ membership for a local club- so a young adult can socialise and develop skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

£100 helps fund a lightweight wheelchair, so a young person can enjoy independence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
