The BBC Children’s in Need’s Emergency Essentials Programme<\/a>, which Family Fund delivers, was highlighted in an emotional appeal on BBC Morning Live on Monday 24 October 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Motivator visited our headquarters in York last week. He met with Gemma Walker, Partnerships Manager for the programme, and Emma Walton, our Referrer Engagement Officer. The Emergency Essentials Programme<\/a> supports children who are facing exceptionally difficult circumstances, providing essential items to ensure their basic needs are met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since we started delivering the programme in 2018, we have delivered over 64,000 Emergency Essentials grants to families who needed it the most. 40% of the applications included a request for bed items. As the cost-of-living crisis is having a huge impact on the families we support, needs for bed items and furniture are drastically increasing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the last two weeks alone, we have granted 231 bed items for children across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This programme for emergency essential items focuses on providing a safe space for children to sleep at night. It can also provide house essentials such as cookers, furniture, fridges, or washing machines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
