<\/figure>\n\n\n\nWhy I fundraised for Family Fund<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
“Family Fund means a lot to my family. My son has autism and my daughter has suspected ADHD so we’ve had a couple of grants, which have been amazing. With one of the grants, we managed to go to Alton Towers as a family. It’s a full circle really because when I was a child, I remember going on holidays and it being funded by Family Fund because my sister has disabilities. I wanted to do something to raise money and give back.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The skydive<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
“It was in July last year near Strathallan, up in Scotland. Honestly it was a once in a lifetime experience, something so surreal that I can’t even put into words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I felt okay when I was on the ground but once I was going up in the plane, it was the worst nerves I have ever felt in my life. I was sitting on the edge of the craft at 10,000 feet and because you’re strapped to the instructor, you’re literally dangling in the air knowing your life is in their hands. It’s terrifying.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nOnce I jumped it was such a crazy, surreal feeling. As we got lower, the views were absolutely amazing. Apart from my kids, the skydive was the best day of my life. I would tell anyone to just go for it!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
The difference it made personally<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
“I have awful anxiety. Sometimes I struggle to even go to the shops on my own so to be able to jump out of a plane was just incredible. I cried when I landed. Just to be able to say I’ve done something like this is amazing. My kids were really proud too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
