One donation, twice the impact!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Family Fund is once again taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge, the UK’s biggest match funding campaign, to raise over £13,000 in just one week. From midday on Tuesday 28 November to midday on Tuesday 5 December all donations over £1 will be doubled – at no extra cost to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ninety-five per cent of parents raising a disabled or seriously ill child on a low income told us they want more information and support than they can currently access. These are families facing three times higher costs, complex decisions around their child’s care and education and exhausting caring responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We support families by providing personalised information and resources to help with money and benefits, budget planning, their children’s education and mental health and wellbeing. We also offer digital training and creative workshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Family Fund, we want families raising disabled children to feel confident and empowered – so they have the same choices, quality of life, opportunities and aspirations as any other family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ben Calverley, Director of Grant Services said: “Extensive caring responsibilities and higher than average outgoings mean families raising disabled or seriously ill children are often on a reduced income and need more support to access information on finances, education, wellbeing or technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We reach out a helping hand – providing signposting to enable parents and carers to achieve the outcomes their children and family need. We also provide group workshops, e-learning courses and one-to-one support with skilled trainers to help to do this in digitally. This enables parents and carers to achieve the outcomes their children and family need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Through the Big Give, we are looking to increase our support by boosting our income – to help families unlock opportunities to increase their household income, access support services, gain vital digital skills and improve their mental health and wellbeing.”<\/p>\nBen Calverley, Director of Grant Services<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
